Something other than skiing for a change?

Fun in the glittering snow

Winter holidays of a different kind

Obergurgl is much more than “only” skiing. Winter enthusiasts can also run wild off the prepared pistes and enjoy the different facets of winter with great offers.

Cross-country skiing

12 km cross-country ski trails in Obergurgl and Hochgurgl offer ideal conditions for sporty winter guests. The high-altitude cross-country ski trail Pill/Angern/Poschach is a moderate, 7 km long cross-country ski trail – suitable for skating and classic style. The beginner’s cross-country ski trail in the centre of Obergurgl (2 km) is ideal for beginners. The beginner’s cross-country ski trail in Hochgurgl (3 km) is also an easy cross-country ski trail, partly lit. Rental of cross-country equipment at Sport Lohmann!

Winter hiking

Just walk away from stress. Along the cross-country ski trails, through the Swiss pine forest to David’s hut or on to the Schönwies hut. The refreshing mountain air and the snow-covered landscape are the best possibilities to enjoy winter from its most beautiful side.

Experiencing nature in its purest form will help reduce stress and strengthen the immune system. Endurance training has positive effects on the cardiovascular system and boosts fat burning. Every Wednesday evening, there is a guided night hike (min. 4 participants) in Obergurgl. Every Thursday afternoon, there is a guided snow-shoe hike for min. 2 participants.

The track is open to tobogganists! The new, three-kilometre-long, winding natural toboggan run in Hochgurgl runs from the mountain to the valley station of the Hochgurgl cable car. The ascent is quick and easy from Pill with the Hochgurgl cable car. Every Monday and Thursday night, tobogganing from 7.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. offers a unique experience.

Ski touring

Away from the hustle and bustle of the pistes, ski tours offer unique experiences with sporting challenges. Ski tours are varied, made up of several components and provide genuine impressions of nature. Skiing skills, endurance, and knowledge of avalanches and rescue are required. 1-2 times a week, a guided ski tour is offered in Obergurgl for a minimum of 4 participants.
