Cross-country skiing
12 km cross-country ski trails in Obergurgl and Hochgurgl offer ideal conditions for sporty winter guests. The high-altitude cross-country ski trail Pill/Angern/Poschach is a moderate, 7 km long cross-country ski trail – suitable for skating and classic style. The beginner’s cross-country ski trail in the centre of Obergurgl (2 km) is ideal for beginners. The beginner’s cross-country ski trail in Hochgurgl (3 km) is also an easy cross-country ski trail, partly lit. Rental of cross-country equipment at Sport Lohmann!
Winter hiking
Just walk away from stress. Along the cross-country ski trails, through the Swiss pine forest to David’s hut or on to the Schönwies hut. The refreshing mountain air and the snow-covered landscape are the best possibilities to enjoy winter from its most beautiful side.
Snowshoeing
Experiencing nature in its purest form will help reduce stress and strengthen the immune system. Endurance training has positive effects on the cardiovascular system and boosts fat burning. Every Wednesday evening, there is a guided night hike (min. 4 participants) in Obergurgl. Every Thursday afternoon, there is a guided snow-shoe hike for min. 2 participants.
Tobogganing
The track is open to tobogganists! The new, three-kilometre-long, winding natural toboggan run in Hochgurgl runs from the mountain to the valley station of the Hochgurgl cable car. The ascent is quick and easy from Pill with the Hochgurgl cable car. Every Monday and Thursday night, tobogganing from 7.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. offers a unique experience.
Ski touring
Away from the hustle and bustle of the pistes, ski tours offer unique experiences with sporting challenges. Ski tours are varied, made up of several components and provide genuine impressions of nature. Skiing skills, endurance, and knowledge of avalanches and rescue are required. 1-2 times a week, a guided ski tour is offered in Obergurgl for a minimum of 4 participants.
Ice skating and curling
Fun and enjoyment for young and old is ice skating or curling on the ice rink at Hotel Enzian in Obergurgl.
Horseback riding
In the modern riding hall in Hotel Edelweiß and Gurgl, riding fans will find the ideal practice conditions on 800 m2. 10 Haflingers are available to ride in the hall built to international tournament dimensions. Group and private lessons are offered.
Bowling
In the Evergreen Bar in Hotel Alpenland, an eventful winter’s day winds down with an exciting bowling game. 2 soundproof bowling lanes are available to guests – booking is required.
Indoor golf
The new indoor golf world on 700 m2 in Hochgurgl offers opportunities to both novices and pros to improve their individual stroke under real practice conditions. 54 of the most beautiful golf courses in the world are available for tee off. 4 state-of-the-art simulators and a 200 m2 large putting green provide a real golf feel.
